Welcome to Studying Life with Gigi!

Hey, there, it’s Gigi.
I am a 25 year old living in New York City, adapting to life in post-grad. I started this blog as a first year attending the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. I have now finished studying Journalism at Columbia. In post-grad, I’m just trying to figure out how to live well and what direction my career is headed in.
Studying Life with Gigi is about living intentionally, paying attention to the little joys of life, and embracing reality as it is. We should all seek to live life according to our values and our priorities. I love sharing life lessons and moments of joy here. My blog offers tips, advice, and commentary on living in accordance to your values that best benefits you!

In This House of Brede by Rumer Godden
I Don’t Wait Anymore by Grace Thornton
Rilla of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery
Tables in the Wilderness by Preston Yancey

Music I love
I love Paramore and I am such a fanatic and will always love them, despite the changing lineup. Got to see them May 2023. Such a legendary moment to see a band I’ve loved since I was 9!
The Maine always gets better with every new album.
In 2019, I went to my first concert ever with Parachute – and there I realized I’d been listening to them since 2012!
I also love The Story So Far, Citizen, Torchbearers, Rachel Morley, and Pvris. But I’m always looking for new tunes. I essentially love pop-punk, emo, or worship!
Check out these albums
Mat Kerekes’ To Dream of Something Wicked – utterly emo and tender and yet achy and nostalgic.
Liv Douglas’ Good Grief – a folksie, worshipful album and it’s stunning. It has made me cry and it just put music to the aches in my soul.
The Maine’s self-titled – a golden display of how a band whose sound keep changes yet stays the same. Funky and full of pop angst.
Abbie Gamboa’s pure – reverent and honest music for Jesus followers.
Rachel Morley’s Every Drop – an open, honest meditation of how to follow the Lord and his worthiness.
