If we’re honest about 2025, it did not go as planned. As much as I grew in my spiritual life, I felt like every other area of my life (except my reading life) fell through on my expectations. So we’re treating this year like a Trello board and dragging last year’s goals to this one.
Additionally, I do not have a word of the year. I usually have some sense of the focus of the year but I just have any clue what’s going to happen next. (When does this feeling go away? Asking for friend lol).
2026 Goals
I resolve to get a full time job. I definitely did my fair share of job hunting last year but it didn’t go my way. So we’re trying again and hoping for a different result. Which is Einstein’s definition for insanity. Wish me luck!
I resolve to take my driver’s test. While I did get back in the driver’s seat and shake my driving anxiety, I think I still need a few months’ worth of driving before I feel confident to schedule the test.
I resolve to take care of my body. Over these last few years, I’ve really neglected myself. Part of it was some Gnostic notion that the mind is more important than the body. However, it’s come back to bite me. My sleep has been suffering and my skin has been suffering. So I want to be way more intentional with taking care of myself physically.
I resolve to continue paying off my student loans. I predict I will actually be able to pay it off once I have a full time job. But until then, I’ll do the best I can.
I resolve to contribute to a retirement account. I’m getting older. I suppose it’s time to get wiser about my future. ‘Nough said.
Silly resolution: I resolve to find a new favorite Earl Grey. I adore Harney’s and Sons Victorian London Fog with all my being. This will be a hard task.
Wild resolution: I resolve to travel either to travel back to Virginia or to Boston. Nothing is currently in the works with either of these places but I am just aching for this year to be full of travel. I was home so much last year, hence my word of 2025.

2026 Wallpapers

I kind of decided on a reddish theme and a blueish-orange theme. I chose the words fear not because that’s the counsel I received for 2026. If anything, it makes me a little more nervous for the unexpected things that are coming. I feel like I used to be excited for the unexpected and now I’m apprehensive (but this year I’ll need my own health insurance – better safe than sorry!) Fingers crossed that this is the year I finally move.
Hope your new year is off to a joy-filled, wonderful start, friends!
Signing off,
Gigi
